Cyclical Interplay is composed of two concentric circles of steel fins mounted on a cement base. Every day at dusk, after rotating for several minutes, the fins come to rest in a vessel-like shape suggesting fullness or emptiness. Each day’s shape is determined by rainfall and reservoir level data collected on-site. By juxtaposing these two measurements, the artists hope to provide viewers with a way to visualize and better understand the changing conditions of our climate.
