With this being the 50th anniversary of Stark Parks, we thought it was only fitting to place a geocache in honor of this great accomplishment. Stark Parks has been friendly and supportive towards geocache placements throughout the years. They have combined with the Stark County CVB to put out two different Geotours and conducted many Geocaching informational classes. Stark Parks offers 100+ miles of trails and 14 different parks, encompassing nearly 8,000 acres of land. In celebration of this great accomplishment, we have placed this cache near the Hickory Trail at Petros Lake Park. Petros encompasses 94 acres and offers two covered picnic shelters, a sand volleyball court, a horseshoe court, a 1.2-mile hiking trail, and three nature trails with plenty of wildlife.
You likely won't encounter a lot of other people, but definitely keep an eye out for other trail users.
