Step 1 - Find your fishing pole at these cords ( N 38 23.844 W 121 22.625 )
Please use the provided pole...NOT your own from your geo bag.... It's steals most the fun of this cache!
Step 2 - Find the WHOPPER at these cords ( N 38 23.861 W 121 22.676 )
Please Note The whopper is located approx. 130 feet to the west of the provided ground zero cords. Just north of the memorial flag pole. A glitch on the cache page makes it so I can't update these cords.
A fun story about when I first placed this cache...
The gentleman who lives north of ground zero is not a muggle but a friend and a caretaker for this cache. If he happens to peek over the fence and say hey their geocacher, just know he's on our side...as is his husky. Although I have recently moved the cache a bit west so that our husky friend isn't barking quite so often.
Permitted park hours are sunrise to sunset. Enjoy a nice walk with great views of majestic oak trees and wildlife. The cache is hidden in one if these big beauties. There are baseball diamonds, a bike ramp park and a playground for the kiddos, as well as a dog park and lots of tables for a family picnic. .
This cache is #18 within the park and I think I can safely say it will be the last one excluding any replacements. I own 11 of the 18 here so feel free to contact me if you get stumped on any of the 18 or any other Elk Grove caches for that matter. This cache idea is the brain-child of my 8 year old son and I. He and I wanted to really think outside the lamppost on this one. We appreciate every creative cache we find so we try to only put out ones such as this that hopefully leave a fond memory for the finder. PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL IS PLACED BACK IN ITS ORIGINAL POSITION PROPERLY & SECURELY to preserve the cache and the experience for future cachers. I hope you CACHE A WHOPPER! We love a good fish story. Please post a descriptive log of your experience.
