Northwest Lancaster County River Trail Parking Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

BethKatzPA: I've had this nano here for five years. It has over 300 finds but only two favorites. The trail is much more popular than it was five years ago. There is usually someone parked here which makes being stealthy difficult both while looking and replacing. It is missing now. I don't think there's a good place to put a cache down here where it won't get muggled. Maybe someone else can be creative, but it's a difficult place for a hide. Oh well.

Geocache Description:

The Northwest Lancaster County River Trail is popular. Driving across and then walking across the train tracks from visitors center is not. This very small container is hidden near the new parking.

The Northwest Lancaster County River Trail has a web site that has a map showing how the trail runs from Columbia to Falmouth. However, the web site is extremely slow to load. So I am not including a link to it. I have a picture of the 2014 map in the gallery, but there have been updates. There are a variety of geocaching hides along here including at least two Earthcaches. Much of it can be biked.

This parking is a welcome addition to the trail. Thank you.

You are looking for a very small container. My Sturdy Street Sign Stretch cache was muggled multiple times, and the sign is no longer sturdy. So I chose a less visible container for this one and more out of the way. It shouldn't be muggled here if people are reasonably stealthy. Coordinates bounced here.

By the way, there are two easy benchmarks nearby. KW0884 is a disk vertically on a south-facing side of a bridge support just west of the road. It's visible from the road. KW0735 is carved into a windowsill of the old building on the northeast corner of the intersection south of here with the traffic light. Both can be logged on the geocaching website.

Congratulations to casual_doggos on the First To Find.
