The artwork is named Nga Huruhuru o Rangimatariki.
This is near where a Village called Rangimatariki was once situated.....and it provided a good view of the Matariki ( Pleiades ) Constellation ....
Huruhuru can be translated as Feather ...and these two structures are representing Huia Feathers ....which were used to adorn Rangitira ...Maori men or women of high rank .
Please take care not to disturb planting.... and leave rocks as found when you have finished here !
