Dartmoor - one of the last great wildernesses in the UK - was designated as a National Park in 1951 (the year I was born!). It is a vast tract of largely untamed countryside of huge richness and diversity with an inspirational landscape of gorse and heather-clad moors and rugged tors, stretching across 368 square miles and ... I love it!
Everyone is welcome to this friendly gathering of all geocachers who enjoy caching in and around Dartmoor National Park. This is a great opportunity to meet other like-minded, satellite technology using, Tupperware chasers
- there will be plenty of geochat and maybe the opportunity to learn some puzzle solving tricks.
The owners of Drake’s Cafe (formerly the Halfway House) have kindly agreed to re-open at 7pm on Wednesday 25th January for us to hold the 29th Dartmoor Bi-Monthly Midweek Event there. They offer a wide range of beverages from a selection of soft drinks, beer (including one bottled real ale), and spirits through to speciality teas and coffees. They have agreed to re-open the kitchen and expect to be able to provide food from their standard menu - which can be found here not to mention home-made cakes!
Please state on your Will Attend log how many of you wish to eat and if possible indicate which menu item you would like, so that I can give them as much advance notice as possible.
