Geocache Description:

This cache is going to be archived on Monday 10th August

We are archiving all of our 100+ Yorkshire caches.
We'd love you to come and find any caches you can before that date.

Although we encourage you to take as much swag as possible before the caches disappear, please do NOT take the cache itself. Cachers are still trying to find our caches and, once we archive them, we're hoping to bring them in ourselves.

This cache is located just inside the hamlet of Goldsborough.
It's beside a quiet road, not far from a handy passing place.

Many people say that geocaches should be placed somewhere that you'd want to go. Well, I'm afraid that GZ has no superb view. Goldsborough itself, although a nice enough little hamlet, isn't somewhere I'd be drawn to if it were not for caching. But perhaps that's the point? Whilst geocaching you get to visit those out-of-the-way, otherwise undiscovered places, like the brambly backside of a village sign.

And just think... you'll have visited the geocache with the longest name ever. Ever!
We had decided on a really long name; but Groundspeak apparently only allow a geocache's name to have a maximum of 50 characters. You win some, you lose some.

As with all of our caches, please don't give away the unique aspect of the cache in your logs, or photos.

And please do let us know with "needs maintenance" logs if the cache needs any maintenance. Problems mentioned in logs can get overlooked and forgotten (especially as there's a group of us working on the caches. I'm afraid that we can think that one of the others has fixed something, when it hasn't been done.). But "Needs Maintenance" logs create a good reminder on the system.
