T&A used to cache in Portland, where there are THOUSANDS of puzzles. We started our caching journey by tackling some that were so difficult they turned us off from solving puzzles, or attempting puzzle caches at all. But through hard work, lots of help from other cachers, and generous hints from COs, we eventually got the hang of it.
This Puzzle Night event will be held from 3 PM to 5 PM Friday, February 3, in the meeting room of the Arvada Library located at 7525 W. 57th Avenue, Arvada, CO 80002. I know it may not be the most convenient time for some since it is on a work day, and during the early afternoon, but this location was one of the few that had internet access and was free! PS BroncoCole was kind enough to host another even only a few short blocks away (GC6Z1YX) that will allow people to show up late, and stay later. Make sure to come to both events.
We were also lucky enough to have attended some local "puzzle nights" in Portland where cachers, both seekers and hiders, would get together and help each other learn new puzzle solving techniques and strategies, and in some cases COs would show up and help people solve their puzzles as well! We are hoping to replicate this helpful atmostphere here in Denver by getting together and helping think through puzzles together, and hopefully solve some together as well! If you are a local cacher who has hidden puzzles I encourage you to come, like we will, and help others solve your puzzles and p0ssibly expose them to new puzzle caching ideas and techniques. If you are someone who has ever really been good at puzzle caching, come and learn some new tricks! If you are new to the game I suggest bringing some GC codes for easier puzzles (don't necessarily bring puzzles that are 5/5s and expect people to hand the answers to you!). This event isn't meant to share answers but to help others learn puzzle solving techniques, and maybe inspire puzzle caches in the area by exposing people to new ways to hide coordinates as well.
There are a few tools you will need to bring to make this night successful:
-a laptop or internet capable phone (the library has free wifi)
-two or three GC codes of puzzles you have been working on
-a willingness to help others, learn, and teach what you already know
-your thinking cap
-patience (both for you and for others) since we will most likely be working in small groups
Please make sure to log a "will attend" note so I know how many to expect, and see you soon!
