Geocache Description:

A Letterbox Hybrid which is hidden at the posted coordinates. In addition to the normal logbook and trade items, it also contains a letterbox stamp, inkpad, and stamp book. Please do not remove the stamp, ink pad, or stamp book. THEY ARE NOT TRADE ITEMS!

Ithilien, or moon-land , is the portion of Gondor which is east of the river Anduin. It is described as "a fair country of climbing woods and swift-falling streams" with gentle slopes, "a wealth of sweet-smelling herbs and shrubs" and a vast array of tree species. It was regarded as a beautiful land populated by the people of Gondor until late in the Third Age.

Henneth Annûn was a hidden outpost and refuge in northern Ithilien. It was hidden behind "fairest of the falls of Ithilien" in the old cavelike watercourse. It is mainly mentioned when Frodo and Sam are captured by the rangers of Gondor and taken there. It was called the "window to the west." This letterbox was inspired by the "little dude" who commented that the area looked like "Ithilien."

Ithilien is located on "trail 200." The best description of how to locate this trail is found at White Ring of Granite Dells. Take the southwest branch and follow it to the marked waypoint, then bushwack about 120 feet uphill to the posted coordinates. Total distance from the trailhead is about 1.3 miles roundtrip.
