This is our first cache we have wanted to place a cache here for sometime as the location is not only on an historical piece of road but the memorial spot for our mate "SHED", who had travelled on this stretch of road since 1966, when the speed limit was 100km per hour, single lane both directions. The Memorial location is marked by a Ned Kelly helmet replica, as "SHED" was a fan of the bush ranger.
Mt Vic pass was build by convicts and completed in 1832, There were two stockades for convicts one at the top and one at the base, In 1832 there were still 219 men working in irons at Mt Vic. Original convict works remain today at the bridge named Mitchell's bridge, half way up the pass.
The cache is not on or in the Ned Kelly memorial, and there is no need to wonder off into the bush or climb any rocks. Have a little look through the trees into the valley below.
