The cache
This camouflaged screw-top plastic jar sits at a farm fence junction beside the Hutt River Trail.
Heretaunga
Heretaunga is bounded by the Hutt River in the north, the eastern edge of Trentham Memorial Park in the east, Fergusson Drive in the south, and the railway line in the west.
The Cache Location
This farmland is part of the st. Pats College Silverstream property. It used to hold cattle but is now used as a rugby practice field in the winter months, and a hay paddock in summer. At the time of publication a large dip is being filled to create a larger playing surface, so far over 100 truckloads of fill and counting. There's a surprising amount of bird life here due to the abundant tall grasses, the nearby Māwaihākona Stream and of course the Hutt River.
Note: no need to cross the fence.
Please replace the cache as found and ensure lid is replaced tightly so water doesn't get in. Thanks.
