£22m has been spent on the Anchorsholme Sea defences, an area where major flooding occurred in 1927 and 1977. Flooding to the prom, the road and tramway occurred regularly during storms when waves overtopped the old sea defences. The solution was to replace the existing concrete sea wall, which dated back to the 1930's, with a new concrete sea wall and at the same time raise the prom to stop the road flooding several times a year.
Well done to djandyuk on another FTF and to Strikkers for also being brave enough to be out on his bike on a day like today. A quick mention for Mr A too who trundled in 3rd place on 4 wheels!!😬
