Geocache Description:

It's time for our annual CITO event in our hometown of Tatum.  It's hard to believe, but this will be the 5th time for us to host this event.  Attendance has grown every year, and we hope this year's crowd will be able to top our 2016 group. This event is open to all cachers, family members, friends, strangers, muggles, and/or anyone else that feels like getting a litle trashy.  Heckfire, even Marshall people are welcome.

What----------5th Annual Tatum CITO Event

When----------April 22, 2017 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Where----------Action Automotive parking lot

Who----------Everyone is welcome

Why----------Civic Duty, Fun, Prizes, Smiley, and PECAN PIE

In conjunction with the city of Tatum, we will do general cleanup to help the city prepare for their annual festival that takes place the following weekend. The work load should be pretty light and we will not be near any high speed stretches of road. Bring your gloves and trash grabbers. The city of Tatum will provide the bottled water and trash bags, and stupid people will be providing the trash. Why do folks throw trash on the ground?

We will begin our chores at 10:00 a.m. and should be done by 11:00 a.m. If you've ever been to Tatum, then you already know we should be able to cover the whole city in an hour. After a group picture of our trash collection, we will start handing out the door prizes. We will have a specific prize for the cacher that brings the most people, and as always, the person that travels the farthest to attend (based on home coordinates on your profile page) will get a prize as well getting to claim the FTF (Found Traveling Furthest). Then, we break out the Pecan Pie. That's right, Pecan Pie. Its become a tradition at this event and we ain't about to break that tradition now!

After our event is concluded, there will be time for folks to do a little smiley hunting. The Tatum area cachers (also known as "The Cool Kids") will have a few new caches placed with some FTF's up for grabs. Not to mention the already existing caches in the area.

This annual event is just part of the fun for the day. SC11 usually hosts a lunch event later in the day because we can all work up an appetite doing our civic duty. TeamML (also part of "The Cool Kids) will be hosting a camping event at Martin Lake State Park also. Camping is not required to attend, but it definitely adds to the fun.

So why not come to Tatum and have a day full of fun?

Civic Duty, Fun, Smileys, Door Prizes, Lunch, Camping, what could be better? Oh yeah...................PECAN PIE!!!!
