LE SITE :
Case-Pilote est une commune française, située dans le département de la Martinique en région Martinique. Ses habitants sont appelés les pilotins du nord (ou Case-Pilotins).
En 2014, la commune comptait 4 464 habitants.
La bourgade de Case Pilote - nommée ainsi en référence au Chef indien Pilote qui y vivait en 1635 à l'arrivée des Français - se situe sur la côte caraïbe à une dizaine de kilomètres au nord de Fort de France, au pied du versant sud des Pitons du Carbet. Il s'agit de l'une des plus anciennes communes de Martinique… En effet, les colons s'y installent dès 1640 après avoir annexé la partie Nord Est de l'île aux dépends des indiens caraïbes.
Il s'agit d'un bourg calme dont la principale activité économique reste encore aujourd'hui la Pêche.
Les centres d'intérêts touristiques sont ici très limités... Parmi les choses à voir on distinguera toutefois pour son style baroque l'Eglise Notre Dame de l'Assomption qui est l'une des plus anciennes de Martinique - Même si le monument actuel date en grande partie de la fin du XVIIIème siècle. L'Edifice est classé aux Monuments Historiques depuis 1979. A quelques pas, sur la Place Gaston Mommerville, l'élégante mairie avec son balcon en fer forgé mérite également le détour.
La visite de Case Pilote est loin d'être une étape incontournable d'un séjour en Martinique. On pourra tout de même s'arrêter quelques minutes sur la place principale pour voir l'église et la mairie ainsi que quelques maisons anciennes aux façades colorées dont certaines sont hélas peu entretenues... Attention à ne pas manquer la sortie pour le centre bourg sur la route nationale.
LA CACHE :
Une fois que vous avez trouvé une place pour votre voiture, le site est très facile d'accès. La cache de micro magnétique contient originellement le log, mais pas de crayon. Apportez donc votre crayon (BYOP) et soyez extrêmement discret, l’endroit est très fréquenté. SVP replacez la cache exactement à l’endroit où vous l’avez trouvé.

THE SITE :
Case-Pilote is a French municipality, situated in the department of Martinique in region Martinique. Its inhabitants are called the pilotins of the North (or Case-Pilotins).
In 2014, the municipality counted 4 464 inhabitants.
The village of Case Pilote- named so in reference to the Indian chief Pilot who lived in 1635 upon the arrival of the French people there - is situated on the Caribbean coast in about ten kilometers in the North of Fort de France, at the foot of the south hillside of the Piton du Carbet. It is about one of the most oldestmunicipalities of Martinique … Indeed, the colonists settle down there from 1640 having annexed the part northeast of the island in depend on Carib Indians.
It is a quiet village the main economic activity of which remains even today the Fishing.
The centers of tourist interests are very limited here ... Among things to be seen we shall distinguish however for its baroque style the Church Notre-Dame of the Assumption which is one of the most former of Martinique - Even if the current monument dates largely the end of the XVIIIth century. The Building is classified as "Historic Monument" since 1979. In some steps, on the Place Gaston Mommerville, the elegant city hall with its wrought iron balcony is also worth it.
The visit of Experimental Compartment is far from being an inescapable stage of a stay in Martinique. We can stop all the same a few minutes on the main place to see the church and the city hall as well as some old houses in the colored facades with which some are regrettably little maintained... Attention not to miss the exit for the center village on the main road.
THE CACHE:
When you found one place for your car, the site is very easily accessible. The cache magnétic Micro Size contains originally the log but no pencil. Thus bring your pencil ( BYOP) and be extremely discreet, the place is very busy. PLEASE replace the hiding place exactly in the place where you have found It.
