Evergreen Park, once called Evergreen Golf Course, used to be the place to golf in Baytown. In recent years, it has closed and the parkland is now maintained by the City of Baytown. Today, it is a public park that offers great walking trails, beautiful scenery, and stocked ponds for fishing. You may not be able to golf, but you definitely will be able to take in the beauty of these rolling slopes while getting active!
Be sure to read the historical marker out front before you head out. Asbel Smith, MD, surgeon-general of the Texas Army, established his homestead one mile east of here and called it Evergreen Plantation. Bring your own pen.
