Millions of years ago, the land upon which Robin Hood’s Bay is situated was once a deep sea. The sea animals of the time, buried in the mud, became fossilised. The beaches around Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay are excellent for finding fossils!
Jurassic Coast is the fifth geocache of the Rocket Series which is based on the Rocket Post near Robin Hoods Bay which you will pass on the Cleveland Way.
Large clip box container with room for trackables and geoswag.
Thanks to the National Trust for allowing me to place this cache.
What is the Jurassic Coast I hear you say? Well...You can learn here; https://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/yorkshire-coast/features/yorkshires-jurassic-park
Please be careful with dogs and young children as this part of the Cleveland Way is near the cliff edge. Parking is available in Robin Hoods Bay
You are welcome to take a fossil to remind you of this geocache but I would like to start a theme, which is to leave or swap something nostalgic and something connected to the local area in this geocache. This could be a leaflet or a magnet or anything you want!
Good luck!
