Monasterio La Candelaria Traditional Geocache

Este pequeño cache está localizado en las afueras del Monasterio de La Candelaria, en el camino de acceso al estacionamiento o parqueadero para los turistas. Trae tu propio lápiz para firmar. El Monasterio de la Candelaria fue el primer monasterio de los Agustinos Recoletos en América. Se fundó junto al río Gachaneca por el padre Mateo Delgado en el año 1604, reuniendo en comunidad a los ermitaños que vivían dispersos en las cuevas de los alrededores. El convento está destinado hoy al noviciado de los Religiosos Agustinos Recoletos y a retiros espirituales. La construcción de la parte antigua del Monasterio se extendió desde 1604 a 1611. En 1989 se construyó un anexo al Monasterio. Este Monasterio es un remanso de paz y que guarda importantes reliquias históricas y de arte. Ven y disfruta de este maravilloso lugar!

This small cache is located outside of the Monasterio de La Candelaria, on the access road to the parking lot. Bring your own pencil to sign. The Monasterio de La Candelaria was the first monastery of the Augustinian Recollects in America. It was founded near the Gachaneca River by Father Mateo Delgado in 1604, gathering in community the hermits who lived scattered in the surrounding caves. The convent is destined today to the novitiate of the Religious Augustinian Recollects and to spiritual retreats. The construction of the old part of the Monastery extended from 1604 to 1611. In 1989 an annex was built to the Monastery. This Monastery is a beautiful peaceful place and holds important historical relics and art pieces. Come and enjoy this wonderful place!
