All this month I've been repairing and checking on Gamer geocache hides to make sure they're up to snuff. I've tried to check on one of my caches, "Bike Detour", four times now, a replacement container in hand in case it's needed, and every time there's somebody camped out right underneath the tree where the cache was hidden and I had to abort the attempted maintenance. Today, I considered changing the coordinates to across the canal from the old spot, in the forest, so I detoured there...only to find a homeless person living there (complete with flamingo statues and a tent). No go.
So on the way home, I have this container in hand, unhideable where I wanted to put it, and I see a side street that I've never driven down but have often considered might be a good place for a geocache. So I detoured from my trip home to scout out a possible hiding spot. Found one! YAYYYY! So this time, the detour paid off!
Please make sure to place it back where you found it, how you found it...sufficiently obscured by natural camo so that others will not be able to spot it. No need to enter the nearby restricted area...it's on the public side of the fence.
Have fun and cache on!
