Mocking Bird Hill
Welcome to Mocking Bird Hill
Augusta, GA has had a teeny tiny secret that has been a big deal for more than half
a century: the miniature houses of Mocking Bird Hill.

Mockingbird Hill was known by many as "the little village", and was orginally built
in the late 1940's by Captain Carl Daniel and numerous other fireman.
As the story goes, while building the village, a Mockingbird sang to them from it's
nest in the nearby tree reminding them of a popular song titled "Mockin' Bird Hill".
They named the village after the song and it remained a treasured
landmark to the local residents for over 50 years.
Through the years, it has been maintained by local fireman, community volunteers,
and the Augusta water treatment plant staff.
Mockingbird Hill was rebuilt as part of the Highland Avenue Water Treatment Plant
Expansion and dedicated by the Citizen Advisory Group on August 27, 2009
in honor of the orginal "little village".
Congratulations to ktwins725 for the FTF!!!
