Rock Me, Momma-Wagon Wheel Heading down south to the land of the pines, I'm thumbing my way into North Caroline . . . . So, Rock Me Momma like a Wagon Wheel, Rock me momma any way you feel. Hey, momma rock me. Rock me momma like the wind and the rain. Rock me momma like a south bound train. Hey, momma rock me. BOB DYLAN's melody for the song and lyrics for the refrain of his "ROCK ME MAMA" were in the 1973 recording sessions for the Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid movie soundtrack in Burbank, California. KETCH SECOR of Old Crow Medicine Show wrote additional lyrics which then transformed the title to WAGON WHEEL and is their signature song. Dylan and Secor signed a co-writing agreement on Wagon Wheel and share the copyright on the song. They agreed to a fifty-fifty split in authorship. DARIUS RUCKER joined OCMS at the Grand Ole Opry on July 6, 2012. This was for his special Wagon Wheel rendition, and the rest is history! At that same time the Irish singer NATHAN CARTER released his song which became a tremendous hit. Does this line in Wagon Wheel remind you of why you're geocaching in Texas?
