In the fourth week of December, I was celebrating my second Christmas in our new house. Three years ago Santa brought me one Batman action figure and it was awesome. I used to run around pretending he was the coolest most awesomest super hero. I even thought he could defeat superman and they should make a movie about it someday.
This year I was hoping Santa would bring me Rock ‘Em Sock Em Robots. My friend Kyle had a set of those and we used to play all of the time. After about seven punches by the red guy, the head of my blue guy would pop up and the round was over. Using the blue guy, it always seemed like it took nine punches here or nine punches there before the red guy’s head would pop up. I tested this once and Kyle still beat me playing blue. Guess I had zero chance of beating him as it was his toy.
Another cool strategy game I wanted was Stratego. You would start looking at eight territory cards and try to take over territories. Later my friend Jeanine came over. She and all of her friends wanted to play the game. I told her the game didn’t allow for seven players and somebody would have to sit out.
The other cool toy I was hoping for was an Etch A Sketch. This was such a cool toy and you could make anything. My best drawing with a house with five doors and seven windows. Jeanine didn’t like it that much, she said it had zero garages for our cars. She also used to ask where would her nine Barbie and Ken dolls live in that tiny house. I put back on my cape and let her know batman was in the house and Barbie and Ken had zero chances of living there. She just shook up my etch a sketch then and said fine.
