Die Eisenbahnstrecke ist als Unterwesterwaldbahn bekannt und führt durch die Bundesländer Rheinland-Pfalz und Hessen. Die Strecke führt von Limburg-Staffel über Montabaur nach Siershahn im Westerwald. Die Eisenbahnbrücke Staffel wurde am 30. Mai 1884 eröffnet.
