Geocache Description:

Great Celebrity Purge of 2016

The year 2016 will be forever remembered in infamy to many people, as it claimed the lives of many celebrities. And while every year claims its share of celebrities, 2016 seemed especially cruel and callous, as one after another after another was taken from us.

This series of geocaches tries to honor those who were taken during the year by placing caches in memoriam and on the anniversary of their passing.

Glenn Frey

Glenn Lewis Frey (6 November 6 1948 – 18 January 2016) was an American singer, songwriter and actor, best known as a founding member of the rock band Eagles. Frey was the lead singer and frontman for the Eagles, roles he came to share with fellow member Don Henley, with whom he wrote most of the Eagles' material. Frey played guitar, piano, and keyboards. He sang lead vocals on songs such as "Take It Easy", "Peaceful Easy Feeling", "Tequila Sunrise", "Already Gone", "Lyin' Eyes", "New Kid in Town", and "Heartache Tonight". After the breakup of the Eagles in 1980, Frey embarked on a successful solo career. He released his debut album, No Fun Aloud, in 1982 and went on to record Top 40 hits "The One You Love", "Smuggler's Blues", "Sexy Girl", "The Heat Is On", "You Belong to the City", "True Love", "Soul Searchin'" and "Livin' Right".

He died at the Columbia University Medical Center in New York City from complications of rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis, and pneumonia, while recovering from gastrointestinal tract surgery. He was 67.

The cache is not at the published coordinates, so pay no attention to All Those Lies and avoid the Smuggler's Blues. We decided, for this one, to Take It To The Limit so to start, get the coordinates from the first stage, and follow This Way To Happiness. The Heat Is On but stage two is at a sort of Partytown . Don't Give Up but solve the puzzle to find the next stage. At stage 3, remember that this is notThe Allnighter and keep Soul Searchin' for the final waypoint's coordinates. I suggest you bring your Internet access, because I've Got Mine and you'll need yours In The Long Run. Once you have the final coordinates, you'll be saying I Found Somebody in no time, like the Sorcerer's Apprentice, you'll discover True Love.

At the excellent suggestion of tugies and 2sonians, here is a checker:

(Note that the checker will validate the solutions for stage 2 and 3, but considers them incorrect because they're not the final.)
