Geocache Description:

Stoney Pond State Forest consists of 1,469 acres and offers visitors an opportunity to view a range of different flora and fauna. The 44-acre Stoney Pond was constructed in the late 1950's to provide wildlife habitat.

We were a family that did not let weather stop us from having a picnic. On a cool (40° or less) day in autumn, mom, dad and three of us piled into the car and drove down to this spot on Jones Road and had sandwiches and sodas. Just for something to do... Back then, there were no pull-off spots so we were just parked on the side of the road.
