Geocache Description:

Easy, Traditional Cache.

A bit of history about “Hossack Lane”

The Cache is located in, Rideau Lakes Township, Bastard Ward 1, Ontario.

The name. Hossack Lane

According to my research and a report written in the Northern Leeds Lantern , (A Community News Paper”)  which was dated, 1 November, 1979, under the heading, “Portland Pickin’s",

The Township of Bastard and South Burgess Council,  Regular Notes of Council, October 1, 1979, in Council Chambers at 1.00 PM. All members present.

The Council requests the road leading off County Road 5 be changed from “ The Lost Nation Road” to Hossack Lane” and the said request to be sent to County Road Committee.

And so it was done.

UnfortunatelyI was unable to determine what the name “Lost Nation “ or “Hossack”  names made  reference to.

However it was  fun to learn about the naming of Hossack Lane

I hope that you have enjoyed my research, should you have any further information to add please contact me through Geocaching.
