Come, meet and greet new and old friends, swap stories and learn what others have done over the winter. The Fort NHS interpretive staff will be onsite and ready to show you: the cooper making barrels, the blacksmith at the forge, you can try your hand at gold panning or perhaps participate in a fur trade wedding.
To help celebrate Canada’s birthday, Parks Canada has made entry into all National Parks and Historic sites free for the entire year. If you attend the event you will receive a free pass good for the entire year.
The Fort Langley NHS has a program in place with 3 caches spread outside the perimeter of the Fort. If you complete this series during the event, you will receive a replica of the wooden tokens that were used as money at the Fort in the 1830’s. The coordinates will be available at the MVG registration desk in the main lobby.
MVG is looking for your ideas and suggestions to help us plot our course, assist in planning our next event or just to brainstorm event locations. We would like to hold events throughout the Greater Vancouver area and need representatives in the various communities to get involved to make that happen. Let’s hear your ideas!
