Geocache Description:

A road side cache in the Hankey area

The Gamtoos Group of rock contains a prominent limestone unit which was extensively mined for the cement industry. Mined limestone was carted by cocopan to the railway siding and then transported to Port Elizabeth for processing. The mine has since closed and some of the equipment has been placed on display here.
