Geocache Description:

A fun hike with a moderate amount of elevation change takes you along a ridge overlooking I91.  Be prepared to project a waypoint on your GPS or use the handy website link provided if you are using a smart phone.

We stumbled across this area a few years back and not knowing what on earth it was we were a little weirded out.  To complete this geocache you must find 5 piles of rocks.  These rocks were placed here by the little known druid beetle over the course of several hundred years.  Rolling stones uphill into massive communities where they thrived until a witch’s coven took over the area and fumigated the place with their hubble bubbling cauldron fires.  The witch’s coven thrived until they discovered wine and the many wineries in Connecticut and none of them could be bothered to hike up there and meet again.

Today, you’ll have to stand in the exact center of the five piles of stones.  Raise your left hand to the sky, roll your right pant leg up, chant “Klaatu barada nikto”*, face 127° and then walk 539 feet in that direction.

*Or something close to it, it can’t matter… right?

For those without the ability or inclination to project a waypoint, Try this website:

Sometimes, projections can go awry, and a shift of one or two degrees can have you dozens of feet off, for that reason, the hint is quite good.

Oh, and you may or may not be near the location of a 1954 plane crash involving a twin engine Beechcraft. The cache is not located in or around any of the wreckage. Please treat the site as a memorial and do not take or move any of the remaining wreckage.
