The Stanton Cemetery, established 1810, is a small family cemetery where generations of these early Onondaga County settlers are laid to rest. The cemetery is largely overgrown and some stones are damaged or missing.
The cache itself is located NEAR, but not IN the cemetery. Please be respectful of this gravesite, which is on private property (cache placed with owner permission).
Take some time at the cemetery to read the stones or maybe do a rubbing. There are some interesting verses and carvings. The cache itself is a waterproof nalgene water bottle with some foreign coins and other trinkets for trading.
