The Scarlet Letter is a 1850 romantic work of fiction by Nathaniel Hawthorne; considered his magnum opus. Set in 17th-century Puritan Boston, it tells the story of Hester Prynne who conceives a daughter through an adulterous affair. Hester struggles to create a new life of repentance and dignity without exposing the father. Once her adultery is discovered, she is found guilty of adultery (at that time illegal) and forced to predominantly wear a red "A," inspiring the title of the novel. Throughout the book, Hawthorne explores themes of legalism, sin, and guilt. Besides being a staple of literary analysis for American secondary education, the novel has been printed in numerous editions and adapted to both opera and plays. Since 1908, the novel has been adapted to film at least nine times in the United States; as well as adaptations in Britain, Germany, and South Korea.
The first stage will take you to a public space where you are looking for the coordinates to the final. The final is located on private property, but within 2 feet of the curb so you can cache with confidence without having to worry about walking around someone's yard. You have permission to hunt, but please be mindful of the property and what you find there. Please leave the stamp at the final.
