Head of the Trail has been designed to be an easy find those riding bikes down the Grassy Key Bike Trail, or those traveling by auto on the the Overseas Highway. A convienient parking lot is nearby for those on the highway and the cache is located very near the bike trail for those on bikes. The entrance to the Grassy Key Nature Trail is very near. This trail is an easy walk of about 1.2 miles through a natural Florida Keys bayside hammock. Certainly worth a half out of your time.
This cache consists of a tin container with a few nice pieces of starter swag in a very easy to access location. After finding the cache I would reccomend that you consider following the nearby signs that will lead you to the entrance of the Grassy Key Nature Trail. THis trail is an easy 1.2 mile walk through a virgin stand of bayside Florida Keys hammock. The trail is maintained by the state and is easily navigated by anyone who can comfortably walk on flat ground. Happy hunting and good luck!
