Geocache Description:

Cache is not in Troy, Greece, or at the posted coordinates. Follow the steps I have provided to determine the final coordinates. I've tried to make everything straight forward since I am motivated to give you a fun experience with a cache to find at the end, not to provide hours of frustration. :-)

Once solved, you will then need to do your best to find the cache in its hiding spot. There is a theme here.

First, a very brief history lesson on the Trojan Horse:

The Trojan Horse is a tale from the Trojan War about the subterfuge that the Greeks used to enter the city of Troy and win the war. After a fruitless 10-year siege, the Greeks constructed a huge wooden horse, and hid a select force of men inside. The Greeks pretended to sail away, and the Trojans pulled the horse into their city as a victory trophy. That night the Greek force crept out of the horse and opened the gates for the rest of the Greek army, which had sailed back under cover of night. The Greeks entered and destroyed the city of Troy, decisively ending the war.

What a great idea for a puzzle!!

The Greeks left this puzzle for you.

Find the year the Trojan War ended. It will be a "B.C." date. Divide that number by 1,000 and subtract it from the posted north numbers

Find the duration of the war in years (it will be a whole number). Multiply it by 35, divide it by 1000 and add it to the posted west numbers

I used Wikipedia for these facts

I hope you are reading the entire listing before starting on the puzzle, because that math above was an example of a cruel diversion from what you actually need to do. Don't be fooled like Troy.

The actual puzzle: 1) On this cache page you will find an image with the names of some of the soldiers that hid in the Trojan Horse. The names are not hidden, you just need to know where to find images I have uploaded

2) Use the related web page link to find a full list of the 'Men in the Horse'. Look up each name in the list to retrieve the final coordinates one digit at a time. You are interested in the order that each name occurs in the list

3) Go find the cache. Do you think the theme might continue with the actual container? Hmmm.

Geochecker provided. I would strongly suggest trusting it if you didn't actually read the entire cache listing. Good luck. LOL.
