Place take the time to visit Dzibikak!!
Hacienda Dzibikak was operational in 1860 and in 1879 had a population of 231 people. In 1910 the hacienda had a population of between 200 and 400 people. With the decline of the sisal industry and a fire in the warehouse which collapsed the walls and ceilings, the buildings were abandoned.
In 2005, Richard and Lena Nichols purchased the ruins of Hacienda Dzibikak. They spent the next 6 years renovating the property which is now available for weddings, photo sessions, ‘quinceañeras’, holiday rentals, B&B service or corporate events. It has hosted a ballet with 300 attendees and is the location for the annual Mérida Music Festival.

Just as lot of other caches in Mexico you can find this one on a private property with the permission of the owner. The cache is at a quiet spot and is very easy to find. Would you like to get acquainted with Richard, you can go a little further onto the hacienda while passing the next gate. You immediately feel like home!
Keep in mind that the gates will be closed in the evening and so the cache is not accessible at night. There is enough space in the box for trading trackables.
After placing a box of my own, Richard decided the place a nice cover of his own. And I thank him for doing that!
