There is plenty of good car parking available in Crawfordsburn Country Park during opening hours. Parking is also available at Helen's Bay Railway Station. You're more likely to get a space here in the evening as it tends to fill up in the daytime during working hours.

THE CACHE
This is hidden near the gateway leading from the Townswomen's Guild Wood to Helen's Way.
The area has several multistemmed tress that resemble coppiced trees.
Coppicing is a traditional method of woodland management which takes advantage of the fact that many trees make new growth from the stump or roots if cut down. In a coppiced wood, which is called a copse, young tree stems are repeatedly cut down to near ground level. In subsequent growth years, many new shoots will emerge, and, after a number of years the coppiced tree, or stool, is ready to be harvested, and the cycle begins again
The cache is a small container with a micro holding the log. The outer container is fixed (but movable) so please do not try to remove. Be careful when searching as barbed wire and thorny brambles nearby. Good luck!
