Gary R Hill, Sr was born in 1947. 20 years later he hitchhiked to California headed for U.S. Marine Corps boot camp on Paris Island. He served his country in Vietnam, was injured and sent back to the states. He met the lovely lady buried next to him and had two children all the while working in coal mines near here. For 30 years he toiled in the mines to support his family. He passed in 2000, at the age of 53, with cancer, that was revealed in autopsy to have been caused from Agent Orange contamination during the Vietnam war. This cache is to honor him because I am a coal miner's daughter...(cue music)
