About the Venue.....
The origin of The White Lion is a mystery, as little historical information is available. However it is at least 150 years old and was possibly a pub of the old Weller’s Brewery of Amersham, but whether it was the White Lion Road or the pub that was named first we don’t know.
What we know for sure is that The White Lion does what any decent pub should. It serves great beer, delicious handcrafted food and the best coffee around.
They are a pub in all ways that matter. The food is comfortable and the sofas are warm.
They're an ideal, easygoing spot for whatever it is that you’re after; a drink, a snack, a great meal or maybe all three.
Food is available from Midday till 9pm
About my first find...
23/03/2014 Finch Lane - Hedge (GC35M11) by CaptainJack
I don't quite know how I found out about Geocaching but I remember being at work on the 20th March 2014 and I had a quiet morning which then became busy towards the end of shift. I went onto the computer and set up an account. I looked at the map and discovered that there was a few Caches nearby to where I lived. I wanted to try and find at least one on my way home but was too tired to try and find one, this happened again for the next two shifts but on Sunday the 23rd March I was able to leave early as I didnt have a Rest Break. I went to Finch Lane - Hedge first because I didnt have the Geocache app on my phone so was going by a print out off the Computer and walked straight past Finch High Find (GC2MTM2) which I found on the return back to my car. From that point on, I was (and still am) hooked!
