WATERSHED 3
At the GZ you will find yourself near the Enfield Service Basin.
Covered water storages like this are often used where contamination of water by sources like leaves, dust, bird droppings is more likely to occur. Keeping the water covered also reduces or eliminates the occurrence of algae blooms which add a lot of cost to treating water to make it suitable for drinking. This is mainly due to the removal of sunlight which limits the algae's ability to photosynthesize.
These storages are also often located at the top of hills to take advantage of gravity which provides pressure to the service area at a much cheaper rate than having to use pumps. Often waste water treatment plants are similarily placed at lower elevations than the serviced area for the same reason.
Access to the GZ is easily by parking just off the main road in the obvious pull over area. Follow the bush track in, its not far. If you have a capable vehicle you can drive right up to the GZ.
