Completed in 1858, the old Smithfield Market covered over 4 acres at its peak of the area that is now known as Manchester's Northern Quarter. The market was closed in 1972 but the outer walls still survive. Cache is magnetic. It is not attached to the gates of the market but to some nearby street furniture that is tucked in a corner. Edit 27/2/17 you should not need to touch any litter to find the cache. See hint. If more litterbugs visit and this changes, please let me know - I really don't want people having to do this !
