Karkloof Falls Birthday Bash Traditional Cache

To celebrate a wonderful day out celebrating my daughter's birtrhday - with friends and family - we placed this cache. This is also on one of my favorite mtb routes , in prime mountainbike country.  Pleas be wary of cyclists !

Please note that due to commercial logging activities and dry season fire hazards, the Falls area may be closed from time to time. For the sake of loacal users, please obey the control signs wrt to access.

Once you arrive , take some time to take in the surroundings . ..it is really beautiful.

(You will have to turn off the main tarred road and travel a few kilometers on a dirt road. (The Parking Co-ordinates are listed under parking) You do not need a 4x4 to visit the falls or the main picnic area, however the road may be difficult in rainy weather. To drive further up and closer to the falls you may need a 4x4. Signs are posted in this regard. You can hike the distance from the parking area. There are toilets available (but take your own toilet paper).

The cache is relatively easy to find - a simply park and find - but to get there it does require some careful driving effort and meandering . enjoy
