Donner Creek is very enjoyable during all months of the year!
During the winter or spring you will be able to see the constant water flow as well as hear it's peacefulness as it flows throughout the rocks. Fortunately there are two trails that run parallel to the creek. You have the paved path along the neighborhood then you have the single track trail between the homes and the creek. If you are looking for a more serene hike then you would take the single track side which also will lead you to this cache. It's fairly flat with a few small rolling hills. Eventually it will lead you to Regency Gate and the rest of the trails that take you to our beloved Mt. Diablo. If you are finding this at the time of year with the nice water flow, take time to enjoy it before or after you make your way to the cache!
Note that you can park on El Molino Drive and take the single track trail right around the corner then hike to the cache unless you find a closer parking spot to get to the cache.
