Geocache Description:

This cache is located in historic Wells Cemetery, a little bit north of Marne, MI and a little east of Coopersville, MI. I saw one date of death of 1856, so this cemetery has been here awhile. Several stones were broken off and repaired by volunteers, now held together with steel straps. Very neat little cemetery. This one may take a minute to figure out the entrance, but the cemetery itself is very neat.

I have lived in the Coopersville area my entire life, and have seen this little cemetery in passing many times, but I'm not sure I had ever stopped here before. Since getting into caching last summer, I have been to numerous cemeteries, and I find very neat things in each one. This one is no exception, not to mention the fact that there are numerous stones here with death dates in the 1850s and 1860s, indicating that this place is very old. I decided I'd like to place a cache here because of the historic nature of this place, and because other than a few, there aren't many cemetery caches in this area that aren't far away.

The difficulty rating for this cache is for the fact that it takes a second to figure out how to get into the cemetery here. The driveway is not immediately apparent, but there is one. One other thing of note here is the horse boarding farm. The container itself is not a difficult hide, although if there's been a lot of recent snows, you may have to dig in the snow a bit to find it even though it is not placed on the ground.

Prize for the first to find is a $5 gift card so that you can remember to eat fresh.

Congrats to CCSquire for the first to find on 1/31/17.
