The term "lackey" would normally seem to be a derogatory one, but this term has been in use as long as we've been geocaching to denote Groundspeak's loyal cadre of professionals, those who keep the site up and running. They run the nerve center of geocaching at Groundspeak HQ in Seattle, though once in a while they can be spotted at events, presumably after having the server hamsters chew through their bonds.
There are a handful of paid lackeys at Groundspeak, and they can't oversee the worldwide experience that geocaching has become, a polyglot of nations and languages. That's where over 200 volunteer reviewers around the world come in. If Groundspeak is the nerve center, the volunteer system is the beating heart that keeps things going.
As we enter our 10th year of geocaching, we just wanted to put out a token recognition to both of these groups and say thanks for all that you do. A special shout out to the twenty reviewers with whom we've worked so far: many thanks to tupperman, 2, fortwo, GeoPolizei, jeeperMTJ.gc, Don Rocbeer, GC-Knecht, erik88l-r, honeychile, offline.cacher, geoaware, geoawareCA, geoawareUSA1, geoawareUSA2, geoawareUSA3, geoawareUSA7, mtn-man, General Disarray, West Texas Reviewer, and YetAnotherReviewer!
