This cache is one of two caches hidden on the Museum grounds. This cache is a micro cache. It is likely not accessible in the winter. The Pembina County History Museum is located just across the road from Icelandic State Park. On the grounds are 11 buildings to tour, including the historic St. Anthony's Church, an 1882 homestead, 1930s barn, blacksmith shop, granary, engine building, restored Great Northern depot, 3 buildings of restored farm equipment and the main museum building with exhibits and a research library. It also has one of the largest antique vehicle collections in North Dakota, including the rare 1925 Case Model X Suburban Coupe. The Pembina County Veterans Memorial and Pembina County Community Orchard were both recently completed and can be viewed on the grounds as well.
T=Terain - 1.5; D=Difficulty - 2; S=Size - Micro. This cache is part of the PWHT. The trail is comprised of several geocaches placed at various historic sites in both Pembina and Walsh Counties and rewards are available to those visiting at least 5 geocaches in one or 5 in each county. Geocaches have been hidden in historical locations within each county. When you find a geocache, record the GC code, date, and the passport code from the actual geocache container. When you have found and recorded five (5) geocaches in a county, you can turn in your passport to receive that county’s commemorative coin. To document successful "finds" of geocaches on the PWHT, you will need the passport, which can be downloaded at http://www.redriverrc.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/passport-v.2.pdf . This passport includes instructions for claiming the rewards.
