The cache is located near Pilot Rock. Wonderful vistas of desert, lakes and mountains can be seen from this site. To get to Pilot Rock, get off Route 173 at 2N33 (N 34 17.239 W 117 12.844) and go west. Road requires high clearance 2WD or 4WD vehicle.
The given coordinates will put you in the vicinity of Pilot Rock, but you need to do a little more work to find the cache. Take the southern road around Pilot Rock. Postion yourself in the center of the road at a point where you can see light through the lower portion of the vertical crack in the rock. Record the coordinates for this point. Subtract .010 from the latitude and subtract .003 from the longitude. These coordinates will take you to the cache.
The cache is in an ammo box thanks to Rayclone who replaced it on June 10th 2006. We have adopted this cache on August 29, 2006.
