Boy Scout Troop 140 of nearby Saint Peters PA has has a weekend camp out in the Wayside Lodge of Daniel Boone Homestead for at least 20 years, There's a program of outdoor activities on Saturday and a Saturday evening feast to which the families of our scouts are invited. We also hold the troop's winter Court of Honor, where the scouts are presented the awards they have earned. In the past we have had historical reenactors visit and have performed wilderness survival exercises. In 2017, our outdoor program was the Geocaching Merit Badge. We found two nearby caches and hid this one.
This cache is hidden in the historical area of Daniel Boone Homestead with their permission and encouragement. It's an easy walk on well maintained trails from any of several designated parking areas.
Enjoy the display of colonial period buildings and re-enactors and learn the history of the period when eastern Pennsylvania was the western frontier.
There is a fee to enter the historical area of the park where the cache is located.
