The beaches here are generally quite sheltered. The beach in the bay area is soft sand and can be very seaweedy on occasions, especially after storms. The water though is lovely and clear and is a good spot for kids to swim.
The other beach is just around the point from the boat ramp. It's a bit more exposed, but still sheltered, with no big swells or nasty rips. Again, a great swimming beach.
Wading out and casting to the weed line will produce some nice fish including the odd King George Whiting. Yellowfin Whiting will sometimes make an appearance in late spring, early summer and autumn is mullet time. Some nice flathead can also be caught.
If you fish off the rocks near the boat ramp, you can cast into slightly deeper water. Over the weed there are a few squid available. Float fishing and berleying will bring the garfish around along with the ever present tommies.
Boat fishing along this part of the coast is excellent. The waters are relatively lightly fished and there are reefy areas all over the place. You don't need a big boat either. Snapper, whiting, squid and snook are caught regularly.
