Moscow Villa is accessible from Omeo via the Nunniong Road and then onto the Bentley's Plain Road. Built in 1941 by Bill Ah Chow as a summer residence whilst working for the Forestry Commission as a fire spotter, Moscow Villa has become a draw card in its own right as a well built and maintained high country hut. The hut was completed the same time that the Battle of Moscow was fought in World War 2. Commission visitors thought the name to be politically incorrect, that is when the quick witted Bill came up with the afore mentioned acronym.
More about Bill and his history can be accessed here and here.

As are all huts, this is an incredible part of our history. Please ensure that you visit with an appreciation for the area, keep it tidy (take ALL rubbish with you) and ensure that all camp fires are extinguished before you leave. There is camping around the hut, staying in the hut itself should be for an emergency only. There is also very good camping just down the road at Bentley's Plain campsite.
