2. Zebedee's Yard
History
The clue to the intriguing name of this yard is in it's history. Until 2013, the yard was part of the Hull Trinity House Navigation School. Formed in 1785, Zebedee Scaping served as Headmaster for over 50 years in the 19th Century. The School is now an Academy and follows a more mainstream education, whilst still honouring many of its maritime traditions. Following the move to new premises in George Street, the main school buildings were demolished and the area redeveloped as a part-time car park, part-time exhibition/festival space. The 2016 Amy Johnson festival was based here and 3 of Amy's decorated moths can still be found here until 31st March 2017
2017
Zebedee's Yard was home to "105+dB" during "Made In Hull". Bright lights and a wall of sound met you as you entered the yard and experienced the roar of the Tigers at a home game.
A permanent memorial to the 6000 Hull Trawlermen who were lost at sea was unveiled in the yard in December 2016
It will also once again play host to one of the stages during the Freedom Festival in September
