At the Eggzquisitely Eggzciting Eggvent, you'll meet other cachers, Eggzchange stories & trackables,
and participate in some (optional) outdoor FUN for young and old from 1PM - 2:15PM
Fun Eggtivities (Starts at 1:15PM SHARP!)
For those who post their Will Attends, we will have some hidden eggs for the kiddos. Once we have brought our eggs back, we will open them together to reveal a bite-sized treat plus some other surprises! More details will be provided at the event. Don't be late! Please note, in your Will Attend please list your number of kiddos and their ages so we can get the egg counts right.
PLEASE NOTE! PLEASE POST YOUR WILL-ATTENDS BY APRIL 5TH WITH YOUR KID AGES/COUNTS SO THEY WILL BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE!
Geocoin Giveaway (Starts at 2:10PM!)
Just before the Eggciting Eggzchange, we'll be giving away 2 free, unactivated geocoins to a couple of lucky adults! No purchase necessary, to win, of course. All you have to do is arrive before 2:10PM and sign the log!
Eggciting Eggzchange (Cachers Head Out at 2:15PM!)
At the end of the event, those eggventurous geocachers who wish to participate in our Eggciting Eggzchange will pick up their special eggs containing GPS coordinates to hidden surprises from their fellow geocachers, then head out on their adventures!
Participating in the Eggciting Eggzchange portion of the event:
- Have you ever wanted to be the Easter Bunny? Well now you can! All you have to do is hide one or more “surprises” somewhere within 5 miles of the event coordinates prior to your arrival! The type of surprise(s) you leave is up to you, but we ask that you keep the contents family-friendly and within the $10-$20 price range per surprise. Surprises do not have to be Easter-themed (or even geocaching-themed), but you’ll earn extra virtual points if they are!
- As each surprise is hidden, collect the coordinates on your GPSr device and write them on a separate piece of paper along with your Geo-Nick and cellphone number (to be used by the recipient later if they get stuck!). Please do not hide multiple surprises near the same coordinates or next to any existing geocaches!
- When you arrive at the event, locate the host and give them the slip(s) of paper containing coordinates you wrote down earlier. The slip(s) will be placed inside Easter Eggs and then into the “Basket of Mystery” to be drawn later.
- Towards the end of the event, all Eggzchange participants will have an opportunity to draw eggs from the “Basket of Mystery”. You will be able to take one egg for each surprise / set of coordinates you placed. Note: Be sure to check the contents of your egg to verify there *is* a slip of paper inside *and* it is not *yours*!
- Go and pick up your surprise(s) as soon as possible to reduce the risk of muggling, melting, insect attacks, alien invasions, etc. If you have problems locating your surprise, contact the hider for assistance. Be sure to leave no trace of the surprise behind (take it all with you!)
- We’d love to see what you received! Please share your wonderful stories (and photos) about your travels and retrieval of your surprise(s) in your event logs!
