A clabbert looks like a cross between a monkey and a frog . The pustule on its forehead turns red and flashes when it senses danger .Wizards used to keep them in their garden to warn of approaching muggles but this has been banned as the sight of all these flashing red lights led muggles to ask why people had their Christmas lights up in June .
An offshoot of my Harry Potter series nearby , this circular trail is based on 'Fantastic beasts ( and where to find them )' by JKRowling. The trail is approximately 8k long from the car park and is on mostly very good paths . Although suitable for buggies , bikes and horses , it is steep in parts and finding some of the caches will require some off-road scrambling . Wear suitable footwear as it can be wet in places .
